Celebrate the Holiday Season at Hilaritas: A Christmas Festival Concert

by Amber Ferrari | Nov 13, 2014

It is a rare occasion for Marian University’s Sacred Choir, Knight Fusion Singers, Chamber Singers, and Band to all perform in one place at one time, but for Hilaritas: A Christmas Festival Concert, the music department is doing just that!

The Department of Music invites you to the Marian University Theatre on December 5 and December 6 at 7 p.m. for this annual Christmas event
.   Kick off your holiday season with caroling, music from mixed university ensembles, as well as instrumental features from the concert band.

The night will feature Christmas favorites, “The First Noel,” “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” and “Christmas on Broadway,” among many others.

One special performance will include “Good Christians, All Rejoice” (with “Bring a Torch”, “Jeanette”,” Isabella”) an arrangement by Marian University’s very own Philip Kern, associate professor of music. Throughout each holiday season, Kern arranges a Christmas piece to be performed at the Choral Festival; this tradition has carried over to
Hilaritas and will be sung both nights.

This event is free for Marian University students, staff, and faculty; $10 for adults; and $5 for students and seniors.

Bring the family and get a dose of Marian University holiday cheer!
