The Indianapolis commencement ceremony typically lasts approximately two hours. The MUAC commencement typically lasts one hour and fifteen minutes. Total ceremony time may vary.

FOR MORE DIPLOMA INFORMATION DO GRADUATES
Graduates receiving a baccalaureate degree who participate
in-person in the May 2024 commencement ceremony, and who have met honors
criteria as
of March 14, will receive a gold honors cord at commencement line-up to wear
with their regalia.
The commencement program lists graduates' honors as of March 14, but the diploma will reflect the final honors after all grades have been posted and GPA calculations are final.
Undergraduate graduates - the tassel hangs over the right front corner then is moved to the left after the degree is conferred. All graduates will be directed to move the tassel at one time during the ceremony.
Graduate and Doctoral graduates - the tassel hangs over the left front corner of the cap from the beginning.
Graduates must arrive by 45 minutes prior to the start of the
ceremony to the Clare Hall Dining Commons.
For the Saturday,
May 4 undergraduate ceremony, graduates must arrive by 12:45 p.m.
For the Sunday,
May 5 graduate/MU-COM ceremony, graduates must
arrive by 9:15
a.m.
Put on all regalia (cap, gown, etc.) prior to arriving at the
line-up site and make sure you know your number for line-up before arriving.
Come to the check-in table upon arrival to pick up your name reader card, and
then find your place in line.
Graduates attending the Commencement Mass should arrive at 2:15 and go directly to the Ancilla Domini Chapel.
Commencement reception will follow immediately after Mass. Graduates should then meet in The Learning Commons at 4:15 pm dressed and ready for Commencement.
The arena will open to guests 45 minutes before the ceremony
start time. Arena
doors will close 15 minutes prior to the ceremony start time. Guests
who arrive less than 15 minutes before the ceremony start time will not be able
to enter the arena and will be directed to the Alumni Hall Family Room to view
the livestream.
Seating is available on a first come, first served basis. Guests
with mobility needs should inform a volunteer when they enter the arena so they
can be directed to accessible seating.
Guests attending the Commencement Mass should arrive by 2:15 p.m. and
go directly to the Ancilla Domini Chapel. Guests are welcome to attend the
Commencement reception immediately following Mass.
Guests attending Commencement can begin to enter the Ancilla Domini Chapel at
4:15 p.m. Doors to the Chapel will close at 4:50 p.m. Seating is available on a
first come, first served basis. Guests with mobility needs should inform a
volunteer when they arrive so they can be directed to accessible seating.
We respectfully request that all family members and guests go directly to the arena (Chapel for MUAC location) so that staff can assist graduates with line-up.
