The Marian University Online Student Experience

Melissa Bond (mbond@marian.edu) is a Student Support Specialist at Marian University with over twenty-five years of experience in education, student engagement, and leadership development. She has dedicated her career to walking alongside students, helping them discover their strengths, pursue their goals, and thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Melissa recently completed her Master of Business Administration and has extensive experience in academic advising, first-year experience instruction, student leadership programming, and retention strategies.

Beyond higher education, her background as a teacher, social worker, and ministry director has shaped her student-centered approach: leading with empathy, listening well, and believing deeply in the potential of every learner. Passionate about building authentic connections, Melissa is committed to supporting students as they transition into and through college, ensuring they have the tools, encouragement, and guidance needed for success.

Marc Bradley (mbradley@marian.edu) brings twelve years of valuable experience working for an online program management company. His roots are deeply intertwined with Indianapolis, as he is a lifelong resident who grew up just a stone’s throw away from the university. Recently, his family joyously celebrated his son’s graduation from Marian, underscoring their strong connection to the Marian community.

Beyond his professional role, he finds immense joy in teeing off on the golf course whenever time permits. Additionally, he would consider himself a car enthusiast and has always enjoyed exploring new destinations through travel. He is genuinely excited to continue supporting Marian students as they strive to achieve their academic aspirations.

Kaitlynn McShea-Jones (kmcshea@marian.edu) joined Marian University Online in February 2025, bringing over a decade of experience in K-12 education with a career focus on the Science of Reading. As the Assistant Director of Online Operations, she is excited to contribute to enhancing the online student experience while promoting the university’s Fransiscan mission. She oversees the administrative operations of online programs, drives student success initiatives, and develops a holistic advising model to support students from orientation through graduation. Her goal is to create dynamic, inclusive, and future-ready online learning environments. 

She holds a Graduate Certificate in Curriculum Development and Design from Ball State University, an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Limerick, and she is currently a PhD Candidate in English Literature at Ball State University. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and hiking.
