Second Bachelor’s Degree Application Process
Follow these steps to apply to Marian University as an international second bachelor’s degree student. Review the application deadlines, English proficiency requirements, academic document requirements, and next steps carefully.

Step One
Submit Your Application
If you have completed, or will complete before enrolling at Marian University, a bachelor’s degree or a degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree, please apply as a second bachelor’s degree student.

Step Two
Demonstrate English Language Proficiency
Students whose first language is not English, or who attended high school in a country where English is not an official or widely spoken language, are required to submit an official English language proficiency test result.

English Proficiency Waivers
Marian University may waive the English language proficiency requirement if a student meets at least one of the following conditions:
- Completed at least three years of upper secondary school in one of the qualifying countries listed below.
- Completed at least one year of high school at a U.S. high school.
- Earned a minimum of 24 credits from an accredited U.S. college or university.

Anguilla, Antigua, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Barbuda, Belize, Bermuda, British Virginia Islands, Botswana, Canada, Dominica, Eswatini, Gambia, Ghana, Grand Cayman Islands, Grenada, Guyana, Irish Republic, Jamaica, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Montserrat, Namibia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Philippines, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Sierra Leone, Singapore, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Tanzania, Tobago, Trinidad, Turks and Caicos Islands, Uganda, United Kingdom, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Step Three
Submit Your Academic Documents
Foreign Colleges or Universities
Request a course-by-course evaluation of your college transcript or transcripts. The evaluation will serve as your official academic record and your transfer credit evaluation.
For an expedited foreign transcript evaluation at a discounted rate, we recommend The Evaluation Company or International Education Evaluation.
You may also use any other AICE-endorsed or NACES-approved evaluation service.
U.S. Colleges or Universities
Official transcripts must be sent directly to Marian University.
English Translations
If your institution does not provide transcripts in English, include a word-for-word English translation of the transcript.
Step Four
Complete the Next Steps After Admission
The following items are required after admission and must be submitted by June 15 for fall semester applicants or November 1 for spring semester applicants.

F-1 Students Transferring from a U.S. Institution
F-1 students transferring to Marian University from another U.S. institution must also submit the following documents:
- Current I-20.
- Current visa.
- Most recent SEVIS I-901 Payment Confirmation.
- SEVIS Transfer-In Form: Submit a copy to your current institution and Marian University.
