Similar to most hospitals, the Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences has a chapel, allowing our osteopathic medical students to grow spiritually throughout their educational careers. The chapel is a peaceful place for reflection and spiritual growth for all members of the Marian University and MU-COM community.
As a part of your training, you will be taught about spirituality in medicine, the ethical principal of autonomy, understanding the role of family systems in making treatment plans, as well as many other competencies. During your training you will learn how to be sensitive and respectful to the beliefs of patients, but not sway from your own moral, ethical, or spiritual beliefs in a way that respects and honor the dignity of each individual. This training will prove beneficial to MU-COM students and residents who continue their training in Catholic or other faith-based hospitals.
