Marian University's Mykah Coleman'24 Crowned 500 Festival Queen Scholar

She did it! Marian University's Mykah Coleman '24, is serving as the Indianapolis 2023 500 Festival Queen Scholar. The 500 Festival crowned Coleman queen at the their annual Breakfast at the Brickyard Saturday, May 20, 2023. Her crowning makes her the first queen from Marian University, and only the fourth African-American queen in the history of the 500 Festival organization.

Coleman, who's pursuing a degree in elementary education from Marian's Fred S. Klipsch Educators College, is actively involved in Marian's Mentors for Kids program, serving as its general manager. She also serves as President of Kappa Delta Pi, an Honors Society for Educators, and is also a 21st Century Scholar. Congratulations, Mykah! You're our Shining Star who's light continues to shine!
