graduates-exhibitionThe Art and Design Spring 2020 Graduates’ Exhibition, featuring artwork created by the Department of Art and Design class of 2020, Allegra Colgrove, Kaitlyn O’Grady, and Maya Quandt, will be on display in the Marian University Art Gallery (MUAG) located in the Evans Center from August 31-September 25, 2020.  A virtual reception of the exhibit will be held on Saturday, September 5, from 2:30-4 p.m. You can join the MUAG event live on Facebook. The exhibit and the reception are generously funded by the Talbot Street Art Fair Grant and are free and open to the public.

As a three-dimensional artist, Allegra Colgrove finds satisfaction in the tactile nature of clay and delight in the vibrant colors of ceramic glazes. Colgrove’s ceramic body of work Oppositional Relationships, is inspired by the contrast of rural and urban environments. Kaitlyn O’Grady is both visual artist and graphic designer. Her current body of work, The Inside Comes Out, aims to bring an educational awareness to mental health, specifically the challenges of depression and anxiety within young adults. O’Grady’s work focuses on conflicts between outer and inner realities experienced while overcoming the battle of mental illness. As a graphic designer, Maya Quandt is committed to creating sustainable, thought-provoking designs that address social and environmental issues. Quandt’s body of work, The Empowered Woman, aims to bring awareness of these issues in an optimistic, factual way.

The Marian University Art Gallery (Evans Center) is located on the north end of the second floor of the Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences on the Marian University campus.
