Sabrina Straub, DSW, MSW, LCSW

Biography

Sabrina M. Straub, DSW, MSW, LCSW, is Field Director and Assistant Professor of Social Work in the College of Arts and Sciences. Sabrina received her Bachelor of General Studies and Master of Social Work (MSW) degrees from Indiana University through Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. Sabrina earned her Doctor of Social Work (DSW) from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN. Sabrina’s area of research is Global Social Work, specifically the globalization of social work curriculum using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the impact of short-term study abroad on the development of a global mindset and cultural humility.

Sabrina is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has experience working in community mental health centers and schools, has worked as a private practitioner, and has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families. Sabrina is a member of Phi Alpha Honor Society as well as the National Association of Social Workers, the International Federation of Social Workers, and the North American Network of Field Educators and Directors. Sabrina was an adjunct professor at Marian for several years prior to becoming the BSW Field Director and assisted the BSW program director in achieving full accreditation status for the program through CSWE. Sabrina is working to increase study abroad opportunities for students at Marian and has had the opportunity to co-teach study abroad courses in England, Guatemala, Kenya, and Tanzania. Sabrina also works as an adjunct faculty member for the Women’s College Partnership at Indiana Women’s Prison. 

Sabrina enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling internationally, building Lego, listening to music (favorite artist Jason Mraz), and reading mysteries.
