Biography
Rapha Perim, Ph.D., joined Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in April 2024. As an Assistant Professor of Physiology and Pharmacology, Dr. Perim teaches integrative physiology in several first-year courses and leads his research laboratory focused on understanding sympathetic and respiratory neural networks and neuronal plasticity. Dr. Perim holds a Ph.D. in Physiology and a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology.
Before joining Marian University, Dr. Perim held faculty positions at University of Washington, University of Texas Health, and University of Florida. His research leverages sophisticated data analysis techniques to explore mechanisms leading to long-lasting adaptations in neuronal circuits controlling breathing and cardiovascular function. Dr. Perim is committed to mentoring students and advancing their understanding of complex physiological systems.
