Mohammed Noor-A-Alam, Ph.D., joined Marian University in 2024 as assistant professor of chemical engineering. Prior to joining Marian University, he served as a full-time faculty member at Purdue University in Indianapolis, Indiana University Purdue University Columbus, Washington State University Tri-Cities, The University of Texas at El Paso, and Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. He also served Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission as a scientist and worked with the radiation processing of polymer composites. He worked as a research fellow of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as well and conducted his research on polymeric hydrogels for bio-medical applications.

His current research focuses on multifunctional nanostructured materials for advanced energy technology, nanostructured thin films including metallic glasses for diverse utilizations including energy, electronics and bio-medical applications, and additive manufacturing of continuous fiber reinforced polymer composites. He is also interested in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Engineering Education. His intention is to pursue an active research program both on his own and in collaboration with other faculty members and industrial experts. Dr. Noor-A-Alam joined Marian University with a deep passion in teaching that would meaningly contribute to the effort in shaping the future and professional success of his students.
