Bio
As an assistant professor of pathology, Shelley Kim, M.D., teaches the basic process of disease formation to the first- and second-year osteopathic medical students in all of their systems-based courses. She was previously an assistant professor of pathology at the Ball State campus of Indiana University School of Medicine. Before that, she completed her pathology residency training at Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital.
Teaching Philosophy
Dr. Kim's teaching philosophy is to help students learn to be lifelong learners. She finds that one of the best ways to do that is to help them fully understand the details of a process so that they can explain it instead of just trying to memorize material.
Professional Service and Affiliations
Dr. Kim serves on the admissions committee for the Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Personal Info
Dr. Kim has four children. She enjoys listening to the piano, saxophone, and trombone music that wafts through the house. In her personal time, she likes to watch sports, read nonfiction books, and bake.
