Biography
Melissa Buehler is an Associate Professor of Global Studies at Marian University in Indianapolis. She also serves as Director of the St. Ives Pre-Law Program and Director of Model United Nations.
She received her Ph.D. in Political Science with a minor in Comparative Studies from Purdue University. Her dissertation, “Principled Actors or Strategic Players? The Puzzling Practice of International HIV/AIDS Resource Allocation in Sub-Saharan Africa,” focused on organizational decision-making under scarce resource constraints. Prior to joining Marian University in 2022, she was a Professor of International Relations and Political Science at Miami Dade College for 12 years.
She continues to actively collaborate with faculty in various disciplines on projects focusing on teaching pedagogy, civic engagement, and student development and mentoring. In her spare time, she enjoys board games, Legos and a good cup of coffee.
