Lyree Mikhail, M.D.

Biography

Lyree Mikhail, MD, serves as the course director for two separate systems courses, as well as serving as the series director for Professional Identity Formation in the Preclinical Years, and as a faculty member in the Introduction to Clinical Medicine courses. She serves in several other key roles within MU-WCOM, including the Chair of the Curriculum Committee, the admissions process, and as a Graduate Medical Education Advisor. She is also responsible for Women’s Health content at MU-WCOM throughout the curriculum. Dr. Mikhail’s academic interests are varied but include the application of evidence-based medicine to clinical practice, humanism, and professionalism in the practice of medicine, medical student recruitment and retention, and finance in higher education. In addition, she maintains a significant focus on student and resident mentorship and the residency match process.

Career Highlights

Dr. Mikhail has had a long academic career, holding key educational positions at Indiana University SOM and Yale University School of Medicine/Bridgeport Hospital before joining MU-WCOM in 2011. She has developed a national reputation as a respected clinician educator and has served as an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has had an extensive career in medical education, including serving as Clerkship and Residency Program Director, and has contributed to undergraduate and graduate medical education at a local, regional, and national level. She has extensive experience advising across the medical education continuum.
