Bio 

Kleio Avrithi, Ph.D., PE joined Marian University’s E. S. Witchger School of Engineering in Fall 2023. She is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering with extensive teaching experience. Dr. Avrithi’s research interests include both analytical and laboratory work. She focuses on the uncertainty and risk quantification for design, performance of soil, structural mechanics, resilience of the built environment, systems design, mechanical component reliability, and engineering education. Dr. Avrithi authored several research and educational papers and reviews regularly articles for journals and conference proceedings. She is a licensed professional engineer with several years of experience in designing and analyzing buildings and power plant components and in geotechnical engineering. Dr. Avrithi serves on international ASME and national ASCE committees. She has established two ASCE student chapters, and served as their first faculty advisor.
