Biography
Dr. Erica Robertson, PT, DPT, CCS is the Director of Clinical Education and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Marian University. She coordinates the Clinical Education program, focusing on clinical preparation, development, and progression.
Dr. Robertson brings seven years of clinical experience, with expertise in cardiopulmonary and neurological critical care at Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She has a strong background in clinical instruction and mentorship, serving as a clinical instructor for five years and earning Level 1 Credentialed Clinical Instructor status in 2021. From 2022 to 2025, she worked as the site coordinator of clinical education (SCCE) for the IU Health East Region, where she oversaw student development across acute care, inpatient rehab, and outpatient clinics. In this role, she helped strengthen academic–clinical partnerships and advanced experiential learning for future physical therapists.

Research and Scholarship
Research Interests:
Advancing the physical therapy profession through focused contributions to competency-based education, particularly the application and outcomes of entrustable professional activities (EPAs) in DPT simulation and clinical education. Her work aligns with emerging APTA domains of competence and supports the integration of EPAs into educational and assessment practices. She is currently contributing to evidence-informed approaches through ongoing research on the use of technology to collect EPA data.

Personal Info
Dr. Robertson enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, reading, spending time outdoors, and tackling DIY projects around the house. She played four years of collegiate soccer at Grace College and is excited to start her coaching career as the coach of her son’s U5 soccer team this fall.
