Biography:  
Clif Knight, M.D., CPE, FAAFP, is a family medicine physician serving as assistant dean of graduate medical education at Marian University’s Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine. He supports the development of new and expanded residency programs across Indiana, particularly in rural communities. 

He is the executive director of the Indiana Family Medicine Residency Learning Network, which he helped establish in 2024, and actively promotes osteopathic education through collaboration with programs holding osteopathic recognition. 

Previously, Dr. Knight served as senior vice president for education at the American Academy of Family Physicians and as chief medical officer and designated institutional official for Community Health Network in Indianapolis, where he also led the Family Medicine Residency Program. 

Teaching and Expertise: 

  • Course Director, Healthcare Ethics, Administration, and Leadership (HEAL) elective for fourth-year students 
  • Expertise in graduate medical education, physician well-being, and healthcare leadership 
  • Focused on developing adaptive, resilient learners prepared for a rapidly changing healthcare landscape

Personal Interests: 
Dr. Knight enjoys spectator sports, cycling, and gaming. He also enjoys current events, travel, and daily NYT puzzles. He and his wife, Shelly, have three grown children and five grandchildren.
