Bio 

Amanda Luper, MOT, OTR, CBIS joined the health and community sciences at Marian University in 2024 as assistant professor and program director for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. She earned both her bachelor's of science and master of occupational therapy degrees from the University of Indianapolis and became a Certified Brain Injury Specialist in 2020. 
 
Before joining Marian University, Luper taught as an adjunct faculty member at Indiana University, where she developed and instructed an acute care/ICU elective. Clinically, she has over twelve years of experience in acute care and ICU settings at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital, where she continues to practice as needed on the burn unit and inpatient acute care floors. 
 
Luper has been actively engaged in professional service at both state and national levels. She has been a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association since 2017 and previously served on the Rehabilitation and Disability Special Interest Section’s standing committee. Within the Indiana Occupational Therapy Association, she has held leadership roles since 2020, including district chair, special interest chair, and currently co-chair of the Academic and Education Special Interest Section. 
 
Her passion for advancing occupational therapy’s role in critical care has led to over 20 state and national podium presentations. She has also been featured in a national podcast, interviewed by local media, authored an article in OT Practice, and founded an ICU support group for survivors and their families. 

Personal Info 

Luper enjoys spending time with her two daughters and husband as well as running. She has completed 10 marathons including the Berlin Marathon twice.
