Originally from Lafayette, Indiana, Dr. Robertson completed his Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology degree from Purdue University and completed a year at the Methodist Hospital (Indianapolis, Indiana) Medical Technology Program. He went on to complete a Master of Science in Pathology at the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, within the Pathologists’ Assistant Program. Dr. Robertson earned his PhD in Anatomy and Cell Biology (Education Track) at the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis. Prior to coming to Marian University, Dr. Robertson was faculty at the Indiana University School of Medicine-West Lafayette campus, where he taught gross anatomy, embryology, histology, and neuroanatomy.
As a classically trained anatomist with a background in pathology, Dr. Robertson enjoys taking a holistic and clinically based approach to teaching and learning anatomy to create a collaborative learning environment for students to apply their knowledge to clinical scenarios. Beyond teaching medical students, he conducts medical education-based research with interest in professional identity formation, humanistic anatomy curriculum, psychometric analysis, and qualitative research methodologies in general. In his personal time, he enjoys time with his family at their sporting events, school activities, and is an avid reader, cook, runner, and gardening, among other interests.
