Biography
Ben Tebbe joined the faculty at Marian University in 2013.
He has had an extensive career as a professional actor and is a member of Actors' Equity Association, the union for professional actors and stage managers. Some of his credits include work with Indiana Repertory Theatre (Julius Caesar, Macbeth, Hamlet, Twelfth Night, Romeo & Juliet, A Christmas Carol), Phoenix Theatre (Clybourne Park, Avenue Q, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Urinetown: the Musical, Orson’s Shadow), ShadowApe Theatre Company (Gorey Stories, Not A Peep), Beef&Boards Dinner Theatre (Father of the Bride) and Contemporary American Theatre Company in Columbus, Ohio (Complete History of America Abridged).
In addition to his work as an actor, Mr. Tebbe is a founding member of Indianapolis Shakespeare Company (formerly Heartland Actors’ Repertory Theatre). He served as Company Manager for the first three years of its existence and was instrumental in starting the group’s free professional Shakespeare in the Park series in 2008. For Indy Shakes he has performed in The Winter’s Tale, The Tempest, Twelfth Night, Taming of the Shrew, Death and the Maiden, The Merchant of Venice, Much Ado About Nothing, staged readings of Happy Birthday, Wanda June, and An Evening of Edgar Allan Poe, and stage managed the world premiere production of Midwestern Hemisphere.
Mr. Tebbe is a 2011-12 Creative Renewal Fellowship recipient from the Arts Council of Indianapolis and the Lilly Foundation.
