Parking Changes Ahead of Commencement and Center for Human Flourishing Construction

Beginning April 16th, parking and traffic patterns near St. Vincent Field and the Evans Center will change due to the Center for Human Flourishing construction project. Please review the impacted parking areas, road closures, and planning guidance before coming to campus, especially during Commencement events when campus traffic will be higher than usual.

What’s changing

The construction project will affect parking in phases. In the short term, approximately 35 commuter spaces will be unavailable in Lots 13 and 14. In the longer term, Lots 13, 14, and 15 will be fully taken offline, and the closure of Tyrone Drive will remain in place.

Affected Parking Areas

The most directly impacted area is between St. Vincent Field and the Evans Center. The map in your parking materials highlights Lots 13, 14, and 15 as the parking lots of direct impact.

How to prepare

The communication assets recommend allowing extra time, sharing parking details with students and guests, using the north entrance of the Evans Center for drop-off, and following posted signage and directions.

Arrive early

Parking and traffic will be tighter than usual, especially during Commencement-related events and high-traffic campus periods.

Make sure family members, visitors, speakers, and event guests know about the parking changes before they arrive.

Recommended drop-off locations

The north entrance is recommended for drop-off, but the south entrance of the Evans Center will remain open and accessible throughout the semester.

Directional signage and campus guidance will help drivers and visitors navigate the temporary changes more smoothly.
