Welcome to the Evans Center!

BMS Hooding CeremonyMarian University’s Health Professions Programs are located in the Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences in Indianapolis, Indiana! The ‘EC’, as it is termed, is a unique building—a part of Marian University that provides an intersection among undergraduate and graduate nursing students, biomedical science master’s students, and osteopathic medical students! As students are entering a new academic year this fall, here is an introduction to the vast resources you will have access to during your years at the EC!

As you enter the building on the main floor, you will have a number of study rooms and classrooms to choose from when available! In addition, the first floor houses the two large lecture halls where classes as well as special events take place. EC suite 109 is a high-traffic location as well! You will be able to meet with study specialists, graduate medical education specialists, obtain financial aid assistance, consult extracurricular organization specialists, and meet all-around friendly people ready to set you up for success during your time here! If you ever need a snack, you can also find The POD (Produce On Demand) market located on the first floor!

DNP Orientation Class PhotoThe second floor houses simulation spaces for healthcare students to train for many situations, such as performing medical procedures, learning professionalism, and undergoing simulated patient interaction scenarios. There are significantly more private study spaces and public study spaces available to students on the second floor. The kitchen and vending machines are also located behind the stairwell, where lunches can be stored and heated.

The third floor houses the MU-WCOM Dean's Suite, faculty offices, the Leighton School of Nursing administrative offices, and a terrace to study on during the good-weather months in Indy!

You’ll find even more educational spaces that are utilized by MU-WCOM, including the OMM or ‘Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine’ lab and the Anatomy Lab, where students have the honor and privilege to perform dissections to better understand the human body.

DO Class of 2028

At Marian, you will be met with incredibly supportive faculty and staff who truly want you to succeed! As they will tell you, do not be afraid to reach out if you need help! They will provide help and explanations of tough concepts to better support your learning style.

Additionally, it is a priority here that students are nurtured holistically, to prioritize life balance with diet, exercise, social time, and academics. If you experience stressful times or have difficulty with this balance and need extra help, Marian University provides free counseling services to students.

After you get back into the routine of school, you will be presented with extracurricular opportunities with student organizations! You can access more information about these on ‘Connect’. Feel free to reach out to the individuals listed on the Connect page for more information!

Welcome to the EC! We are glad that you chose to come here, and we cannot wait to continually learn together!
