UKnight Program: What to Expect

Students in the UKnight! Program are required to complete a minimum number of academic and co-curricular activities during the semester that will contribute to your academic and personal success. Programming will include:

Student Success Coach
Your Success Coach, who will serve as a mentor during your first two semesters, will work with you and your support network to develop a strategy for success.

Student Success Seminar
Student Success Seminars are presented by the Office of Academic Engagement and are an extensive series of workshop designed to help students navigate through their academic career.

Social Events
An important part of the UKnight! Program is to offer on and off campus events that foster community, help students build their support network, and enrich the college experience.

About the UKnight! Program

We are committed to your successful transition and ongoing achievement at Marian University. The UKnight! Program has been designed to support our most promising students—students who may have experienced academic and/or personal challenges prior to enrolling at Marian, however remain deeply committed to their success. All students’ success in college includes ensuring they have access to and can take advantage of experiences that are designed to meet their needs. The UKnight! Program has been especially designed for you. This program offers you a unique opportunity to deepen your academic and co-curricular experiences through customized programs and services. The UKnight! Program will help you transition throughout your entire first year as you begin your college experience at Marian. As a UKnight! Student you will:

Identify your strengths
and learn how to apply those strengths across all facets of college life.

Participate in and lead
programs and services that help to clarify your academic interests and future professional goals.

Identify and develop
an action plan to achieve your educational, personal, and professional goals.

Enhance, adopt, and practice
skills that will position you as a collegiate scholar.

Become and active participant
in and contributor to the community.

Form another network
of fellow students, professors, staff, and local community members who will support you in college life.

Serve as empowered leaders, mentors, and role models
who demonstrate how to set and achieve goals.

 Review the checklist for 2020-21 Accepted Students
 If you haven't already, register for SOAR.
 Apply for Financial Aid! The FAFSA deadline for students who live in Indiana is April 15. While you can complete the FAFSA after this date, students living in Indiana may miss out on eligibility for State Grant consideration. Visit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid website to complete your FAFSA (Marian University School Code is: 001821).
 Submit your Deposit! Reserve your spot to join the Fall 2021 class at Marian University by visiting Marian’s payment website and selecting ‘Graduate and Undergraduate Deposits’ from the drop-down menu.
 If you are interested in living on-campus, complete a Housing Application and submit a housing deposit.
