The mission of the Marian University Alumni Association (MUAA) shall be to promote the social, intellectual, and spiritual influence of Marian University in the lives of its alumni and to encourage participation by the alumni in the activities of the association and in the stewardship of the university. This shall be accomplished under the umbrella of the university's mission statement and the Franciscan sponsorship values. The existence of the association shall be perpetual.
Directors are responsible for advising the Office of Alumni Relations and providing guidance on topics related to alumni relations. The national board works to encourage alumni giving, promote involvement in campus events and activities, and strengthen the alumni network through meaningful engagement. Alumni who serve on the board can serve up to two consecutive three-year terms.
