Areas of Interest and Expertise

Dr. White joined the Marian University Nurse Anesthesia Program in an adjunct capacity in 2016, fulfilling a goal she had kept in mind since beginning her own nurse anesthesia education in 2011. She continues to work full-time as a practicing nurse anesthetist with Great Lakes Anesthesia, and currently provides services at three hospitals and one surgery center in the greater Fort Wayne area. Dr. White's areas of interest include obstetric and pediatric anesthesia, neurobiology and pharmacology, and the business of anesthesia. Working for a CRNA-owned anesthesia group that utilizes nurse anesthetists to their full scope of practice has given her a strong interest in training future providers to be capable of the same.

Dr. White grew up in Minnesota, and spent many years in Louisiana and Florida before graduating from Texas Christian University with her doctorate in 2013. After graduation she left the sunny Gulf Coast to accept a position with Great Lakes Anesthesia, and moved to Fort Wayne with her husband (now a registered nurse as well) and small son. A second little boy followed shortly after, and Dr. White enjoys introducing them to growing up surrounded by the changing seasons. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, travel, and good books.

Dr. White has a genuine interest in nurse anesthesia education, and welcomes the opportunity to assist students with learning and professional development in any way that she can.
