Cathryn Baack, PhD, APRN, FNP-C, CPNP (retired)
Family Nurse Practitioner Track Program Director and Assistant Professor of Nursing
Originally from Central Ohio, Dr. Baack earned her BSN, MS, and PhD from The Ohio State University, where she completed the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program, did a Specialization in Early Intervention and completed a 2-year LEND Fellowship in Developmental Disabilities. Dr. Baack has been teaching since 2006 and has taught at the ASN, BSN, RN to BSN, MSN, and DNP levels. Before coming to Marian University, she was the program director of Graduate Nursing Programs at South University, Cleveland Campus, where she completed a Post-Masters Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner and developed the FNP program there. Prior to that she was the Assistant Dean of Academic Operations at Chamberlain College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Baack has done research on maternal stress and coping when a child is fed enterally and has presented at several conferences on this topic. She is currently working with several DNP students on manuscripts for publication. She recently moved to Indianapolis with her husband, daughter, and dog and cat.
