Dr. Richard Schuster

Biography 

Richard Schuster, DO joined the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in February 2013 as a professor in the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and took over as Chair of Primary Care in May 2013.

Dr. Schuster attended the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 1994, after completing a fellowship in Osteopathic Principles and Practice. He completed a residency in family medicine at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, Ohio, and a fellowship in sports medicine at the Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. He served two years aboard USS Frank Cable as Medical Department Head, and one year as head of the Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Team for Recruit Training Command, US Navy.

Clinical/Research Interests

Dr. Schuster’s academic interests include musculoskeletal medicine, biomechanics and functional anatomy, with particular emphasis in how the body transmits and organizes information to coordinate movement.
