Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine Student Wins Prestigious Scholarship

She is racking up the awards! Third-year Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine student Nancy (Shiro) Githere, MPH, has been awarded a 2023 Kaiser Permanente Northern California Medical Student Scholarship for her commitment and contributions to underserved communities. She will be honored at an online Medical Student Scholarship Celebration on September 7, 2023. Additionally, Githere is encouraged to complete a one-month elective at one of the Northern California facilities.

Last year, Githere won a $10,000 American Osteopathic Foundation William G. Anderson, DO, Minority Scholarship recognizing today’s minority medical students on their way to becoming tomorrow’s leading doctors.
