INDIANAPOLIS—Marian University (marian.edu) named the eight high school seniors who will receive full-tuition scholarships to attend the Catholic university on Indianapolis’ westside.
Each year, Marian University invites its top applicants to compete for the prestigious St. Mary Academic Scholarship, which awards full-tuition for four years. Students are selected to compete based on their academic accomplishments, community service and extracurricular activities. The competition culminates with a series of on-campus student interviews with university faculty and staff. This year, 120 students were selected to compete for the scholarship.

“Since opening our medical school in 2013, the academic profile of students applying for admission to Marian University has improved remarkably each year,” P.J. Woolston, vice president of enrollment management, said. “Not surprisingly, the competition for the St. Mary’s Academic Scholarship is getting more intense each year as well. The eight students selected to receive the full-tuition scholarship come from four states and have declared six different majors. That serves as evidence that Marian is growing as a regional university with a variety of programs that attract exceptional students.”
This academic year, US News & World Report named Marian University #6 Most Innovative University, #15 Best Value University, and #30 Best University in the Midwest Region. It is the highest ranking Marian has achieved in all three categories.
Applications for the fall 2020 class are still being accepted at marian.edu/apply. Current high school juniors who would like to compete for the full-tuition scholarship for fall 2021 must submit completed applications for admission no later than October 15, 2020.
