INDIANAPOLIS—Marian University has acquired INISchools, a subsidiary of Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana, which provided support to charter, public and private schools. Officials at Marian University said it will rebrand the organization the Center for School and Community Success, and place it under The Educators College, expanding the college’s continued and growing outreach efforts to support K-12 schools.

The Center for School and Community Success will provide services in financial accounting, state compliance reporting, special education and English Language Learners policies, procedures and administrative assistance, strategic planning, school evaluations, teacher and school leader professional development and curriculum and instruction development.

INISchools originally operated under the nonprofit designation of Goodwill Education Initiatives, Inc.

"Goodwill Education Initiatives established INIschools as a professional education service," Kent A. Kramer, President & CEO of Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana, said. “Marian University is well positioned to continue offering high-quality services to public and private schools."

INIschools’ current services include data management and analysis, state reporting and compliance, as well as financial and accounting services. INIschools also aids in delivering effective special education intervention and maintenance to their clients. Some of INIschools’ existing clients have chosen to transition to the Center for School and Community Success, though they are not required to do so.

“As developers of high-quality teachers and leaders, we will continue to pursue and expand our partnerships and services to K-12 public, charter and faith-based schools,” Kenith C. Britt, Ph.D., Senior Vice President and Dean, The Educators College, said. “INIschools were pioneers in providing professional education services to schools and we are thrilled with this opportunity to partner with Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana. The acquisition of INIschools, builds upon the foundation of The Educators College strategic outreach plan, and adds to College’s previous experience supporting Indiana schools.”

The Educators College has been providing professional educational services for nearly a decade, including work with the Indianapolis Mayor’s Office of Education Innovation (OEI), the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and many public schools throughout the state including the Greater Clark County Schools, Sheridan Community Schools, Kokomo School Corporation, and others.

“Sheridan Community Schools was blessed to have the opportunity to work with Marian University and Duke Energy to develop a long-range strategy,” Dr. Dave Mundy, former Superintendent of Sheridan Community Schools, said. “Throughout the project we were able to update our facilities, improve our curriculum and work collaboratively with our parents, town council, and the entire community to increase the levels of excellence for all our students.  This would not have been done as effectively without the hard work and partnership of The Educators College at Marian University and their outstanding staff.” Dr. Mundy is currently the Associate Superintendent of Noblesville Schools.
