Kenith Britt, Ph.D.Kenith Britt, Ph.D., dean of The Educators College at Marian University, is one of the newest 17 deans selected from a national pool of candidates as an Impact Academy Fellow.

Deans selected for the year-long academy have been identified by their institutions as proven leaders who will aid fellows to help increase leadership skills through initial in-person experiences and on-going support from experienced deans.

Focusing on teacher preparation, the diverse cohort will convene in Dallas, Texas at Southern Methodist University for two in-person sessions: a four-day session in July 2017 and a one-day session in July 2018.

Britt will explore challenges in teaching practice, offer structured coaching opportunities, participate in case-study discussions, and develop plans to address individual and institutional challenges.

This unique fellowship will help to build leadership skills in tandem with on-going support of peers and experienced member deans. These practices will aid in developing strategies to manage individuals and organizations through improvement efforts in educator preparation, while building a network of professional relationships.
