Grow spiritually and intellectually in faith

Fellowship

Alverna Housing Community

Open to people of all faiths, the Alverna Community is a living-learning community which seeks to build a faith-based housing option that reflects on our Catholic and Franciscan heritage while supporting spiritual exploration and discernment.

Members of the Alverna House participate in spiritual, social, educational, and community outreach programs on and off campus.

Peer Ministry

Peer ministers seek to walk humbly with Marian University students, accepting all as they are, and leading them into a life of discipleship through creating hospitable communities.

Peer ministers lead Life Groups, support positive residence life on campus, provide personal assistance to those in academic, emotional, and/or spiritual need, and are active in Sunday Liturgy and Campus Ministry activities.

Each or the four main residence halls is assigned a peer minister who, socially and spiritually, strives to lead students in living Christian values in all areas of their lives.

Koinonia

An opportunity to discover God, yourself, and others. This student led retreat helps students form a community of friends in a quiet environment to help reflect on their lives and get a chance to see God in a whole new way.

Koinonia is the Greek word for community. This is a Christian-based retreat, but all faiths are welcome and participants can expect to benefit from a diverse experience. Get to know yourself and your friends--old and new--through self-discovery and contemplation of God's impact in your life.

Life Groups

Organized by the peer ministers, life groups meet weekly in small groups in order to create new friendships, reflect on scripture, and grow in faith.

Life Groups are a significant part of the peer ministry program. Peer ministers and life group leaders lead small faith sharing groups, meeting Marian University students wherever they are in their faith journey.  As Life Group participants develop a deeper relationship with Jesus, they grow personally and learn they are not alone in their struggles.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

The FCA vision is to see the world impacted fro Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes, by presenting the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.
