The M.A. Rooney Scholarship

Founded in 1969, the M.A. Rooney Foundation has been dedicated to charitable, educational, and religious programs that promote or provide educational opportunities and inter-racial justice, among other social and community assistance efforts. Today, the Foundation is concentrating its efforts and resources on helping educators improve literacy and educational excellence in Indiana.

It is through this commitment that the M.A. Rooney Scholarship has been named. Educators working in Indiana’s K-12 schools are offered the opportunity to continue their learning of evidence-based approaches to teaching reading through Marian University’s M.S. in Reading Science degree.
