Biography
I earned my B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry from Glasgow University, in Scotland. After graduation, I spent some time in research, including over six years in Japan working on applications of accelerator-produced muons to condensed matter science. At Marian I have taught many courses across the chemistry curriculum, and have directed student research projects on a wide range of topics. I maintain an interest in muon science, and in addition to continuing research work in that area I have served on experimental advisory committees in Japan, Canada, and the U.K. My broader scientific interests include a range of topics in theoretical and computational chemistry and spectroscopy.
