Church Music--Double Major in Music and Pastoral Leadership

ChanceThe study of music is as diverse as music itself and, with a double major in music and pastoral leadership, offers a world of artistic and religious career opportunities.

If you have a passion for Sacred Music and the desire to lead others in worship professionally, we recommend the Church Music Track. This unique program combines a Music major, specifically tailored to the skills you will need to be a successful music director, with a Pastoral Leadership major, expressly designed to prepare you for active ministry and service in the Church.

Through hands-on experience both on and off campus, you will be able to develop and refine your God-given gift of music, delve deeper into your faith through theological inquiry, and hone your pastoral skills.  Although this double major track is specifically designed to train church Music Directors, upon graduation, your major in Pastoral Leadership will equip you with the necessary skill set to serve the Church as a Director of Religious Education, a Youth Minister, or a Pastoral Associate.  Your major in Music will prepare you to seek employment specific to music through teaching private lessons and pursuing professional performance opportunities.
