Naama Lewis is a native of Indiana, born and raised in the city of Gary. She has her B.S. and M.S. in Bioengineering from The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and a second M.S. in Applied Mathematics from SIU. Her PhD is in Mathematics with focus on Statistics as well as an interdisciplinary degree in Psychology. She believes in a STOR philosophy for learning which means, given the Space (mentally and physically), Time, Opportunities (to both fail and succeed), and Resources, anyone can learn anything. Her research interest includes convex problems in statistics and data science and what to do with biological data.
