Matthew Walsh is an Assistant Professor of Social Work in the College of Arts and Sciences. Matthew received his PhD in Social Work from Indiana University in 2020, his MSW from the Indiana University School of Social Work in 2012, and his BA in Sociology from Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire in 2007.
Dr. Walsh’s research focuses on social work practitioners and their interactions with other professionals and clients. He also explores issues surrounding social work education and interprofessional education. Before beginning his teaching career, Dr. Walsh was a home-based therapist working with families involved in the child welfare system. He also has experience working in schools, substance use facilities for youth, and group homes for people with Autism.
