Holly Gastineau-Grimes is an Assistant Professor of Political Science and directs the First Year Seminar courses (which provide a common experience and introduction to the Franciscan values for all Marian students). Grimes completed her Masters in Political Science at the University of South Carolina. After working for the Journal of Politics in graduate school, Grimes ventured into publishing and enjoyed working with the Consumer for Dummies series before returning for her Ph.D. at Purdue University.
Dr. Grimes also leads the Marian Model United Nations student group and course, which provides students with the opportunity to attend a multi-day conference role-playing U.N. delegates, while learning about the politics and culture of another country. As part of the cultural experience, Grimes has taken her students to the annual International Festival in Indianapolis, and local Ethiopian restaurants, Eastern European church services, and fall festivals. She has traveled with students to North Carolina, Chicago, and to the U.N. Headquarters in New York.
