A career-long writing center professional, Aaron’s has worked directly with students and Indianapolis communities to create effective writing spaces. His thesis, a pilot study, assessed the effectiveness of individual writing center appointments, centering on factors beyond the writer and tutor. Occasionally, his focus means advocacy in areas like Housing, Linguistic Justice and even Food Access. His five years as Near Northwest chair of Food Access included a food access needs assessment, assets assessment, and beginning an ongoing recipe book taken up by others in the department. Aaron loves to teach first-year writing, concentrating on writer agency and linguistic justice.
