The maymester study abroad program is a two-three week team-taught course conducted by various faculty members from sponsoring departments at Marian University. This short-term course allows for an in-depth examination of a given topic in the country of choice. In past years, maymester study abroad programs have included such destinations as Italy ("The Roman World: Its Time, Its Transformation and Its Influence") and France ("Revolution: Arts and Ideas").

Maymester 2013

The Golden Ages of Greece and Italy May 12-June 2, 2013
approximate cost: $3,900-4,500 

The cost includes everything but lunches and personal expenses. The
total cost will be deteremined fall semseter 2012.

Focusing on the art, literature, and history of the golden ages of Classical Greece, Rome, Florence, and Venice, this course will take students on a three-week exploration of Athens, Olympia, Mycenae, Delphi, Sicily, Pompeii, Rome, Florence, Ravenna, Padua and Milan. 

Students are required to enroll in a fifteen hour lecture and discussion course during the 2013 spring semester. Upong returning from the trip, studetns submit a research project focusing on a topic of their selection. Upon successful completion of all phases of this course, students may receive three hours academic credit in GLS, ENG, ARH, HON, or ISP.
