Below are instructions on how to make sure your experience using Canvas goes smoothly.
During your studies, you will most likely need to use some additional programs and software to complete the assignments in your courses. Click on the name of the most common programs used at Marian to learn more about the program, find answers to questions, and/or access the service.
Microsoft Office 365 - As a student at Marian, you are entitled to download a free copy of Microsoft Office on up to five devices. (Questions on downloading the software should be directed to the Helpdesk at x6444)
Turn It In - Turn It In is a program which allows instructors to check for plagiarism, assign peer reviews, and provide feedback on your written assignments.
Qualtrics - Qualtrics is a comprehensive research survey tool available to all Marian faculty and staff and Marian students with a faculty sponsor. Contact Educational Technology for questions about Qualtrics.
Some other programs you may want to consider include:
CamScanner- Use your phone to create PDFs of your assignments to submit through Canvas.
Adobe Acrobat Reader - Use Adobe Acrobat Reader to view PDFs your instructor posts in your course.
Jing - Jing a screen capture tool you can use to take screenshots or annotate full presentations.
Video Production - There are lots of different options to create videos. It is best to contact Educational Technology to discuss what would be best for your situation.
