International Friendship Program

Marian University’s International Friendship Program is designed to match an international student with a faculty or staff member with whom he/ she/ they can talk to about their experiences, enjoy an occasional meal, celebrate holidays, participate in community events, and simply enjoy the exchange of international friendships.

The separation from family and a familiar culture can be a difficult and frustrating experience for international students. By helping the student understand U.S. American culture and offering friendship, a host can ease the international student’s adjustment to campus and Indianapolis.

The International Friendship Program provides a rewarding and enjoyable experience of cultural exchange. Besides making new friendships, host families gain insight and greater understanding of other countries, cultures, and customs.
