Parents, Families, and Guests

We understand that choosing Marian University for your student's undergraduate studies is a big step for your family.

During Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR), we’ll provide you with more information, discuss campus support services and student resources, answer your questions, and ease your worries as your student begins the college journey.

Parents, family members, and guests are welcome and encouraged to attend a SOAR session with your incoming students. We'll host sessions and programs specifically designed for you. During SOAR, you can:

  • Attend a family panel facilitated by Marian University's Dean of Students that features panelists who include faculty, staff, current students, and parents of current students. This is your opportunity to ask open, honest, and tough questions without fear of embarrassment.
  • Learn great ways to support you can offer support to your student, from their first semester of college through graduation.
  • Connect with faculty, staff, and current students who are all happy to help you and your student have a great Marian University experience.
  • Join your student to learn more about academic and and other campus resources.

Your student can indicate on the SOAR reservation form whether they will have one or two guests who plan to join them. If your student RSVPs for you and your schedule changes (and you can NOT join us), please let us know to cancel your reservation by emailing soarmu@marian.edu.
