SOAR - International Students

Congratulations on your acceptance to Marian University! Not only will you be making the transition to college life, but also to the United States. Through SOAR, we are here to help you become familiar with campus and ensure you're able to complete all required steps to start classes at Marian. In addition to your SOAR program, you will also have another orientation the following day specifically for international students.

Fall 2021 Students

Registration for our summer SOAR programs is now open. To register, please click here and sign in using the account you created when applying to Marian University or Saint Joseph's College. Once signed in, you will be able to view all of our available SOAR dates on the Events page. After you have registered for a SOAR, it will appear under My Events on the main page.

Incoming students have the option to choose from multiple SOAR programs, but international and long-distance students (from states other than Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, and Illinois) also have the choice to attend SOAR on Thursday, August 19, 2021 so you don't have to make an extra trip to Indiana this summer.

International and long-distance students also have the unique opportunity to register for classes prior to their SOAR program. To do this, please register for a SOAR program in June or July during which you'd like to complete advising from home. We will be able to set you up with your academic advisor to complete this process and then move your registration to our August 19 SOAR so you can complete all remaining activities here in-person.

2021 summer SOAR programs take place on the following dates:

  • Thursday, May 13, 2021 (one-day SOAR)
  • Thursday-Friday, June 10-11, 2021 (two-day overnight SOAR)
  • Thursday-Friday, June 24-25, 2021 (two-day overnight SOAR)
  • Thursday-Friday, July 15-16, 2021 (two-day overnight SOAR)
  • Thursday, August 19, 2021 (one-day SOAR)
