School of Education and Exercise Science

Neuroscience Conference

Welcome to Marian University's School of Education and Exercise Science! Our mission is to prepare teachers who transform the lives of students, families, and the wider community, embodied by the theme “Teacher as Model and Mentor: Ever Teaching, Ever Learning, Ever Changing.”  We have a tradition of excellence in preparing future elementary, secondary, special education, physical education, English as a New Language and Catholic School educators as well as professionals in kinesiology, exercise and sports studies.  Our graduates are distinctively prepared to teach students from all cultural and linguistic backgrounds effectively through a holistic approach to education which includes preparation in the neuroscience of learning.  University and K-12 faculty mentor pre-service teachers across all grade levels K-12 as they gain experience with a wide variety of students from diverse backgrounds.

Marian University’s pre-professionals in Exercise Science and Sport Studies work in authentic environments early and often in preparation for their careers.  Hands-on internships prepare them to be leaders in health and wellness for athletes, sport-health related fields, and in exercise and physical activity.

We equip teachers with the knowledge and skills that they need to be leaders in classrooms and schools across Indiana, the United States, and the world.  If your goal is to become a leader who is committed to transforming lives through education, please contact us.
