Biography

My teaching experience at Marian University in the MAP program includes courses in accounting, managing information systems, project management, web development, statistics, operations management, finance, and decision analysis. I developed and currently teach two of the business administration concentrations, project management, and business technology. In addition to my position as MAP instructor on a part-time basis, I work at the University of Indianapolis as a professor in the School of Business, teaching accounting courses in both the undergraduate and graduate programs business programs.

Prior to my teaching career, I was the regional director of the Central Indiana Small Business Development Center from 2006 to 2013. Prior to joining the SBDC my experience included vice president of Technology Services and Business Information at H&R Block Tax Services, Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri, where I oversaw the national field accounting and IT operations for the tax services division after many years in the tax preparation industry where I worked as regional director, franchise director, district manager, and tax educator.

I am a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and provide accounting, tax and QuickBooks services to several small businesses in Central Indiana as a self-employed consultant. I have an Master of Science in Accounting and Finance, an Master of Business Administration in Management and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Management Information Systems, as well as an associate degree in accounting. I am an expert MicroSoft Excel user and have taught advanced level courses for Excel and Access.
