Marian University Founders Classic

Each year, the Marian University Founders Classic honors individuals or a group who has helped make the university what it is today. This year’s event honors Ruth Rodgers, senior vice president for leadership integration and student success; and Thomas J. Enneking, senior advisor to the president and professor of engineering.

Honorees

Ruth RodgersRuth Rodgers joined the Marian University community as dean of students in 2005. Since then she has developed collaborative partnerships and influenced the development of student facilities that create a culture focused on student connection, belonging, and success supported by our Catholic Franciscan mission and values. She currently serves as senior vice president for leadership integration and student success, leading and overseeing co-curricular programs and services, as well as leadership development initiatives for faculty, staff, and students.

Tom EnnekingDr. Thomas Enneking is a native Hoosier originally from Oldenburg, Indiana. He joined the Marian University staff as provost in 2005 and, in that role, oversaw the creation of the College of Osteopathic Medicine, 3+2 Engineering program, and many other innovative academic programs which contributed to Marian’s rapid growth in enrollment. He currently serves as senior advisor to the president, professor of engineering, and has been deeply involved with the launch of the new E. S. Witchger School of Engineering.

The Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Indiana moved Marian College to Indianapolis in 1937 and have laid the foundation of Franciscan sponsorship values that guides Marian University today. This remarkable group of women have ministered to thousands of students throughout the Midwest and beyond. We are humbled, excited, and have set an aspirational goal of securing $200,000 in scholarship support to honor Jack Snyder and the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Indiana.

"Receiving a Marian athletic scholarship meant that all my years of hard work paid off. Not only was I able to continue to play the sport I love in college, but alongside it I was able to further my education. This opportunity put me in a position to chase after dreams bigger than those I had on the field."
