Matt Salzman ‘10 joined Marian University as the assistant director of grants management in December of 2016, where he works with all areas of campus to research, apply for, and manage grant funding. Matt is a 2010 alumnus of Marian University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology. After college he went on to serve a year as an AmeriCorps*VISTA working with Peace Learning Circles, Inc. and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin. In 2014 he earned his master’s degree in sociology with a focus on nonprofit organizational structure at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Prior to coming to Marian, he acted as the executive director of a small local museum with the Montgomery County Cultural Foundation in Crawfordsville, Indiana, where he and his family reside. Matt’s family includes his wife, Katie, a sergeant with the Indiana State Police, and their two boys, Max and Xander. The Salzmans enjoy canoeing on Sugar Creek, camping at many of the wonderful Indiana state parks, and visiting both sides of their family from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; coincidentally the location of another unaffiliated Marian University. As volunteers, Matt and his family share a passion for history and he serves as a board member for the Montgomery County Historical Society.
