Michael A. Evans, Ph.D., founder and chairman emeritus of AIT Laboratories, will be speaking at the Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences On Thursday, October 9 at Noon in Room 150 (Lecture Hall 1).
Named in his honor, the Evans Center houses the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-COM) and Alan and Sue Leighton School of Nursing. His magnanimous pledge was instrumental in the university’s ability to open Indiana’s first medical school in 110 years.
Dr. Evans founded AIT Laboratories in 1990. Prior to his career as an entrepreneur, he served as tenured professor, director, faculty member, and researcher for institutions, such as the Indiana University School of Medicine, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He holds a doctorate in toxicology from Indiana University School of Medicine, a postdoctoral fellowship with the National Toxicology Center and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and has received numerous fellowships and grants from the National Institutes of Health and the World Health Organization.
