MU-COM Faculty Members Named NAOME Fellows

by Mark Apple | Mar 19, 2014

American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) has announced that two faculty members from the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-COM) are 2014-19 Fellows for its National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators (NAOME).

NAOME Fellows are inducted into the Academy each year to serve a five-year term. As Fellows, inductees function as leaders and mentors for academic scholarship and excellence within the osteopathic medical education community.

Representing MU-COM during the next five-year term are Lisa Chun, DO, C-SPOMM, assistant professor, and Michael Kuchera, DO, professor and chairperson.

NAOME is a community of outstanding educators (termed Fellows) who have met rigorous standards of academic excellence within the last five years. Membership is earned (and can be renewed) for five-year intervals during which Fellows are asked to mentor and support academic excellence and scholarship in the osteopathic medical education profession. NAOME was established in 2009 as the first national health professions education academy. Its peer-selected membership comprises a community of outstanding educators from across the osteopathic medical education continuum.
