New facility to be named in honor of alumnus

Norman-CenterMarian University officials announced that a building currently under construction on campus, which will house the university’s Byrum School of Business, will be known as the Paul J. Norman Center. Norman, a 1973 graduate of the university, recently pledged an undisclosed seven-figure donation to the university.

37th Annual Student Achievement Awards Happening Sunday, April 14

Marian University will present the 37th annual Student Achievement Awards on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Marian University Theatre in Marian Hall. A reception will be held in Allison Mansion immediately following the awards presentation.

The awards program is designed to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Marian University students. In addition to the Alumni Distinguished Senior Award and John Sweany Maid and Knight of Marian Memorial Spirit Award, awards will be given in the areas of academics, student leadership, service learning, campus ministry, and others.

Thomas J. Enneking, Ph.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs, said, “We are very proud of our students and are happy to take some time from our busy schedules to recognize some of their academic and co-curricular achievements. These students serve as positive role models on campus and in the community.  They are the embodiment of our vision to provide an education that profoundly transforms lives, society, and the world.”
